Greasewood - a date for your diary!

Following on from our forties night (Jig for Victory) and Seventies NIght Fever, we are proud to present Greasewood, a celebration of the fifties on Saturday 16 October. Further details to follow shortly.

2010 Memorial Cricket Match

This year’s memorial cricket match will be on Sunday 4 July on Grayswood village green.  The game starts at 2.00pm.  There will be tea and cakes with a barbeque later in the afternoon.  Do come and join  us - watching the cricket is not obligatory!

Neil Smith

Neil Smith, who works for Portsmouth City Teaching Primary Care Trust and is based at Rowner Health Centre, will be running more than 60 miles in various races this year, including the his first half marathon, the Great South Run, Europe's leading 10 mile road race, and five 10km races.

Neil said: "I was inspired by my brother to get fit once more after watching him compete in a couple of triathlons last year and so I took up running again.  I set myself this challenge to keep me motivated and to raise funds at the same time.

"I chose to support the Ben Williams Trust not only because I work with his mum Gilly but also because it's such a worthwhile cause, and a fitting way to remember that Ben lived life to the full.

"I ran the Great South Run eight years ago and hope to finish this year in 1hr 15mins to beat my previous time.  I've never run a half marathon before so I'll be happy just to finish, obviously ahead of my brother!"

How Can I Help?

If you would like to support our fundraising efforts in any way, or put on an event for the Trust, we would be delighted to hear from you.  The Just Giving site also enables you to create your own fundraising page online in a matter of seconds, which will allow people to donate– why not take a look?  Activities can range from a mufti day at school to helping organise a golf day.  Many employers are willing to make a contribution or even match funds that their employees raise in support of charitable causes.  Chrissie and James Chapman set themselves the challenge of climbing Ben Nevis, and helped raise over £4,900 for the Trust in the process!

Making a Donation

If you would like to make a donation on-line, payments by debit and credit card can be made through our Just Giving facility.  This will allow you to make a Gift Aid donation.  If you are sending a donation to us, please complete a Gift Aid Form if you can. This allows the Trust to claim an additional 28% in respect of your donation.  So for every £10.00 you give, the Trust gets £12.80.  If you are a higher rate tax payer, this will also allow you to claim back tax paid at the higher rate.
